SPEAKER: Laura Solomon, Esq. & Juliana VanDuyne-King, Esq. of Laura Solomon & Associates, Ardmore, PA
The Delaware County Estate Planning Council in conjunction with the Orphans’ Court Education Committee of the Delco Bar Association presents a program that will be of great benefit to nonprofit, charitable and tax-exempt entities and those representing said organizations. We will have Laura N. Solomon, Esquire update us on the compliance issues facing fiduciaries in the non-profit world and issues that arise since they are subject to strict requirements to maintain tax exempt status through a myriad of regulations. Her firm represents tax-exempt organizations and the personnel serving them.
Laura is a magna cum laude graduate of Tufts University and received her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. She currently serves on the Board of the Mayor’s Fund for Philadelphia and Penn Hillel, is a member of the Charity Working Group of the US Treasury Department, the Tax Exempt Organizations Subcommittee of the American Bar Association and the Charitable Organizations Committee of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, a Planner of Endowment, Foundation, and Philanthropy Conference of the Philadelphia CFA Society and a Faculty member of the Nonprofit Institute of the Pennsylvania Bar Institute. Laura also lectures at the LaSalle University Nonprofit Center, the University of Pennsylvania, and Temple, Villanova and Drexel Universities.
Julianna VanDuyne-King is an Associate at Laura Solomon, Esq. & Associates, where she advises nonprofit organizations on all aspects of their formation and tax exempt activities. She joined the firm in 2018. Previously, Julie served as the Executive Director at The Arc Community Trust of Pennsylvania, a 501(c)(3) Pennsylvania non-profit corporation which administers pooled and individual special needs trusts for adults and children with disabilities. Prior to serving in this role, she was a Trust and Fiduciary Business Development Officer with Univest Bank and Trust Co. in Souderton, PA.. Julie received her B.A. degree from the Pennsylvania State University in 1995. She holds a J.D. (1999) and an LL.M. in Taxation (2006) from the Villanova University School of Law.
