As we start our 2018/2019 council year, we are pleased that our first program presenters will be Christine A. Reuther, Esq. and J. Patrick Killian discussing what a qualified opportunity fund is and the tax benefits that it could provide such as temporary deferral for gains on the sale of other assets and permanent deferral for gains on fund investments as well as the challenges that go along with the tax benefits (mainly timing and liquidity as of December 31, 2026);  Also, what a fund can own—tax deferral is not limited to just real property anymore and if an investor with the right kind of property or business should set up a fund;.  They will also address items an investor looking to invest in a Qualified Opportunity Fund should consider when evaluating funds and Qualified Opportunity Zones in Delaware County,. their locations, contacts and more.
