To start the new year off, we will be having a luncheon meeting at the Towne House. The schedule for the meeting is: 11:30- Registration, 11:45 -Buffet Luncheon, 12:00-Program with Lesley M. Mehalick, J.D.
Lesley's program will address issues on incapacity - financial and healthcare issues, qualifying for and information on public benefits (SSI, MA, SSDI); an overview of estate planning documents and the capacity to make them as well as the Caretakers-Guardians, Supported Decision Makers, Healthcare Representatives & Trustees of Special Needs Trusts and she will wrap up the program with information on the ABLE Act (Acheiving Better Life Experience).
Ms. Mehalick is a shareholder of McAndrews, Mehalick, Connolly, Hulse & Ryan, P.C. (McAndrews Law Offices) and is the supervising partner for the firm’s trusts and estates department. She concentrates her practice in the areas of estate planning, special needs, public benefits, and disability planning, guardianships, special needs trusts, estate administration, and elder law planning. She regularly appears in Orphans’ Court and she is a frequent lecturer to both attorneys and families on these topics. Ms. Mehalick holds an LL.M. (Master of Laws) in Taxation and a Certification in Estate Planning from the Villanova University School of Law, Graduate Tax Program, and she received her J.D. from the George Washington University Law School, where she served as the executive articles editor on the American Intellectual Property Law Association Quarterly Journal. In addition to maintaining her practice at McAndrews Law, Ms. Mehalick serves as an Adjunct Professor of Taxation and Special Needs Planning at the American College of Financial Services.
